Background

The Environmental Laboratory was established in 2002 by University of Miyazaki, and the AAN, Japan to provide analytical facility for supporting arsenic mitigation activities, water supply related research and other environmental oriented projects. It also provide support to other organizations, institutes and NGOs. In 2009-10 funding was obtained from the AAN, Japan to construct and equip the lab at Arsenic Center. Environmental Laboratory was provided 1500 square feet space at Arsenic Center. Renovation and equipment money totaling 10,870$ were invested to build the lab, which was officially opened in April of 2010.

Facilities

Equipped with quantitative and qualitative instruments and chemicals, the laboratory renders authentic services for analyzing water quality samples. The analysis is conducted by highly qualified trained chemists, laboratory assistants and sample collectors. The staff are receiving training at different universities and organizations in Japan and also by visiting Japanese experts. As a result, it is capable of satisfying our honorable clients and hosting any national or international researchers or organizations.
